dressing for an encounter

my idea is very simple, if the viruses is transmitted by a bite or scratch from a zombie than stop wearing short sleeve shirts and cover your necks. most of our heroes are lost by a bite or scratch on the forearm or neck. It would be a whole lot better to wear some kind of body armor and gloves and maybe even a helmet of some sort before encountering a group of zombies.
