Max Brooks says it all. Use silenced weapons, preferably small(speed), so that you won't draw a horde onto you. Get out of the city. Use a skateboard, bike, motorcycle, preferably not a car. No armor, except maybe kneepads or armpads. Tight clothes. Keep your distance from all infected and take them out quietly.
