Nerd of the Living Dead

Where did this flick come from, and what the hell is it!? Zombie comedy is a given, considering the title. Here's how the logline reads:

After über-dweeb Elvin McBrant is attacked and bitten by a dead(ish) hippie during a zombie uprising, he takes refuge in a farmhouse, where he becomes the unlikely leader of a rag-tag group of survivors. Unaware that the infection is clouding his judgement, the others naively follow his instructions, and it isn't long before Elvin looks less like a hero, and THEY look more like dinner!

In this uniquely crafted, tongue-in-cheek send-up of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead, new footage and characters are meticulously woven into the historic film, with the result that the dialogue and acting of the original to become part of a completely different story.

Okay, I'm intrigued. A zombie comedy with actual footage from the original , classic film!? This could either be brilliant, or a complete disaster; either way I wanna see it! IMDB says the release date is (was) June 2011, but the website (http://www.nerdofthelivingdead.com) says July 21st (Summer Solstice?).
