Spyhole Zombies - Friday 6 May 2011

I don't know how to explain this but, I just saw four people jump one of those undead things and smash it to a pulp. I know it's not really alive or the same person any more but, it looked disgusting, barbaric.

I was out at my car to see if it would start all right, which it didn't, then popped the bonnet to take a look. Next thing I noticed this person walking up the street toward me. You know that way, when you just sense something just isn't right. He didn't look drunk exactly, or drugged, but some kin-of brain dead. I tried to ignore him, cause that's what you do to drunks isn't it, don't engage them or they'll be there all day talking shite at you, or stab you in the head. It does happen, the the papers or Google it.

It got to within six metres of the car when I noticed it's mouth was covered in blood, fresh blood and the eyes were opaque and fixed, on me. The next thing I know, three teenagers (neds) came running round from Brisbane Street, right at this thing. The first ned had obviously been watching a Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan movie and performed a less than perfectly executed flying kick at the thing, catching it on back of the head. His two accomplices charged and knocked it to the ground. When it hit the ground it tried to grab at them but they'd obviously done something similar before and knew how work it. The two boys stood on it's hands whilst the leader kicked it in the head. What a vicious left foot that boy had.

I was frozen to the spot. It was a display of violence that I'd only seen before on films or youtube.

The thing still seemed alive, I know it wasn't but it moved and made noises so it must have felt something, right?
I winced as the first boy jumped up and came down on the things head crushing its skull. I couldn't look away. I didn't enjoy it but I couldn't look away!
I can still hear the skull crush. It was a dull crack like breaking a thick bottle in a sack.

For the next five or ten minutes, I'm too sure, time fucked off in my head, the boys jumped on the head and kicked it till it was a bloody pile skull shards and brain. It didn't move again.
Before running off, each of them spat on it and kicked it between the legs, then the ring leader looked at me and said “Alright mate.”
I don't know what to do now. I really, for the first time in my life, genuinely don't know what to do!

I can't shake off the image of what happened in the street today. I'm going to bed to, hopefully, get some sleep.
