Alternately set in both present day and a future where the cities of man have been leveled by the zombie menace, the novel tell the story of Bosely Coughlin, a man who has become dimensionally unstable through a heady cocktail of drugs and the occult. Traveling through the Eye of Aeons, he shares the experiences of a fourteen year old survivor named Ocean, who has never known any home other than the apocalyptic wasteland that colors her existence. Back in the present, he begins to recognize the seven symptoms of the infection that will level civilization in a simple shopgirl named Clarice Hudson. Determined to spare Ocean from a life of suffering and fear, he sets in motion a plan whose ultimate goal is the stop the coming apocalypse. "With my undead cycle," Mr. Rose said, "I am attempting to create a consistant, walking dead reality much like William Gibson did with his Sprawl series or like Tolkien with his Middle Earth."
