Zombie Grade and Stage System

A group of zombies is called a horde. When there are zombies present it is also important to be able to classify them on a macroscopic scale. This can be done, much the same way as classifing a disease or a cancerous tumor, by using a system that organizes horde by how many are in the horde population and how malignant or how well it can spread and reproduce.

Grade

The grade of a zombie Horde is a measurement of the zombies ability to multiply or reproduce. The grade of a zombie presence is represented by the letter “G” and number”1-5” according to the degree. Grading systems can be slightly specific or modified for each zombie type. Some zombies, however, do not have a grading system because they have no ability to multiply (G1).

G-1

This Grade represents no threat of zombie multiplication. Zombies are not able to reproduce in any way.

G-2

This Grade represents low threat of zombie multiplication. Zombies are only able to reproduce or multiply under very strict conditions. Usually by passing the curse to another or having to complete some difficult task to create another zombie.

G-3

This Grade represents mild threat of zombie multiplication. Zombies are able to reproduce or multiply from some less common conditions. Usually a zombification effect will take place upon a person’s death or something will gives rise to zombies under specific conditions in only specific areas.

G-4

This Grade represents high threat of zombie multiplication. Zombies are able to reproduce or multiply from some common conditions. Usually zombification will occur from some kind of contagious disease transmitted through interaction with another zombie like a bite or scratch.

G-5

This Grade represents extreamly high threat of zombie multiplication. Zombies are able to reproduce or multiply very quickly. Zombification occurs from some kind of super contagious incurable disease or condition which can spread rapidly.

Stage

The stage of a zombie presence is a description of how much the zombies have already spread. The stage often takes into account the size the zombie population, and whether it has invaded adjacent areas. Staging of a zombie outbreak is important because the stage a powerful predictor of what kind of survival strategies which should be used, and methods of elimination are often changed based on the stage. The stage of a zombie presence is represented by the letter “S” and number”1-5” according to the degree. For example if the only few zombies around were isolated in a cave it would be classified as (S1). If a whole major country is isolated and quarantined this may be classified as (S4)

S-1

Number of zombies: 1-10

This is the lowest threat stage of zombie presence. The zombies usually affect a limited area, prolonged times at this threat level usually indicates that the zombies are not able to multiply. Rarely do outbreaks of zombies result farther than Stage 1.

Zombies of these numbers are only noticed by a few people.

S-2

Number of zombies: 10-100

A zombie presence in the stage 2 is usually the case of a small populated area under some kind of zombification effect or is the result of a high G-4 zombie condition starting to multiply.

Zombie populations at this stage are large enough to most likely be noticed and documented by media and local law enforcement.

S-3

Number of zombies: 100-10,000

A stage 3 is usually the case of largely populated areas under some kind of zombification effect or is the result of a high G-4 zombie condition getting out of control.

Zombie populations at this stage are large enough to most likely be noticed my law enforcement and military forces.

S-4

Number of zombies: 10,000-10,000,000

A stage 4 is usually the case of extremely populated areas under some kind of zombification effect or is the result of a high G-4 zombie condition beyond normal military and government control. Usually sections of countries or entire countries are under quarantine.

Zombie populations at this stage are an international threat and world organizations must take action to stop the zombie condition for going any further.

S-5

Number of zombies: 10,000,000–Zombie Apocalypse

A stage 4 is usually the case of some kind of apocalyptic event or is the result of a high G-4 or G-5 zombie condition taking over the human population. Usually government organizations break down and chaos breaks the law of man. see Zombie Apocalypse for more information
